Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall wagering is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes required to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, contains one hundred and fifty slots and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel compound that contains a number of luxuries accompanying the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
