Cambodia Casinos

[ English ]

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den gambling is not legal. Eight casinos are situated in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel complex that highlights numerous amenities in addition to the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
