Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, where casino betting is prohibited. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent spot, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is real of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge casino, contains 150 slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel compound that contains a number of luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 table games.
