Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect area, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are apparently needed to cross, there are means around this, as is real of many borders.

The first Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slots and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel compound that highlights numerous conveniences aside from the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 gaming tables.
